Where was I born and raised? I’m an Air Force brat. Never lived in one city more than 5 years before moving, but kept boomeranging back to Houston.
My path to midwifery...
My journey to midwifery began with childbirth education, grew into birth and postpartum doula work, and after witnessing so many women stripped of their autonomy in hospitals, I answered the call of midwifery. I love to see the deep satisfaction in the faces of families when a woman achieves the birth she desires. I love sharing in the birth of new hopes and new stories. It is the biggest honor and gift.
My philosophy about birth is that birth choices should be honored as much as possible within the realm of safety, and it’s so important to listen to the mother and care for her as an individual; not box her into unnecessary spaces.
Beach or mountains? Beach! My Starbucks order is anything with caramel, chocolate or vanilla.
