Alexandra Wyatt, Owner and Midwife at The Addice

Alex was my midwife for both of my babies, and I couldn't have asked for better care. She goes above and beyond to make sure you feel supported and heard. She has you listen to your body and steps in when needed. She helped me achieve my ideal birth both times. She not only became my midwife but a dear friend.

Where was I born and raised?

I was born in Indiana and lived there until I was 11, before moving out to California with my mom.  It was there that I met and married my husband Jeff, and we had our two children with midwives out of the hospital, before moving to Texas in 2012.  While I'm not a Texan by birth, I feel it in my heart!

My path to midwifery...

God put a calling on my heart for birth work when I was just a teenager, so I became a doula in 2004, which started my journey to be a Licensed Midwife in 2013.  I've worked in several birth centers and home birth practices over the years, and even ran my own successful solo-practice birth center in West Texas for 8 years before joining The Addice in 2026.

My philosophy about birth is that God designed our bodies to know how to grow and birth our babies, and it is my honor to walk side-by-side with each client along her journey into motherhood.  While Midwives are trained to help step in to preserve the balance of safety when it is needed, I also feel that there are so many things that we can do to help prevent issues from developing in the first place and I love being able to work with families to help them achieve their ideal birth experiences.

Beach or mountains? Mountains!  While I love hearing the sound of waves crashing, breathing the fresh mountain air and seeing mountain landscapes will always have my heart.

My Starbucks order:  I'm not a fan of coffee or tea (I know, I'm weird!), but I do love a great hot chocolate or a smoothie!
