MIDWIFE
"We could not have had a better midwife to help us welcome our first child into the world. Catrice was so supportive and encouraging throughout our entire pregnancy and birth. When a complication arose during our birth, Catrice knew exactly what to do. She is a wealth of knowledge with such a sweet and calm personality, the most perfect person to have by your side!"

Where were you born and raised? I was born in Dallas and moved to El Paso at the age of 5...I'm a Texas girl, through and through.
My path to midwifery...
My path to midwifery started around the time I became pregnant with my daughter. I had been admitted to nursing school and was planning to attend and later pursue midwifery. I was unaware, at the time, that there was a more direct path that avoided the hospital environment. Upon becoming pregnant, I never considered seeking the care of an OB and found a local midwife to walk with me through my pregnancy. Through the course of our care, it became clear that midwifery was where my heart was and nothing else would suffice. I quit nursing school and started Midwifery School when my daughter was 3 months old. My heart for women and passion for the individualized, educational, client-centered care that midwifery brings only has grown since the birth of my daughter… which you could say was the birth of the midwife I would soon become!
Your philosophy on birth:
I believe that women were designed for birth and that it is a normal, physiologic function of their bodies. A woman’s natural instincts and intuition through her pregnancy and birth should be honored and heard. As midwives, we are facilitators for the most safe and natural birth possible, as well as safeguards for when birth may not go exactly as planned.
Beach or mountains? This is tough because it would depend on the season. I love a good beach with the sound of the ocean waves and feel of the sand between your toes!
My Go-To Coffee order: Dutch bros
Dub shot over ice in a medium cup with 2 extra shots, 4oz of cream, and sugar-free white chocolate. Now try ordering that mouthful! It’s worth it, though.
